Why Women Over 50 Belong in AI—And Why I Wrote a Song About It

I recently wrote a song that speaks to something I feel deeply about: women over 50 stepping into the world of AI and technology without fear.

For too long, society has sent the message that tech belongs to the young. But I see something different—I see women in their 50s, 60s, and beyond tapping keys in quiet rooms, their voices breaking through the gloom.

I see resilience.

I see wisdom.

And I see a future where age isn’t a barrier to learning and innovation.

Why I Wrote This Song (Using AI in 20 seconds)

AI and tech are transforming our world, and women over 50 shouldn’t be left out of that conversation. My lyrics reflect the journey of those who refuse to be invisible, who are finding paths in AI’s maze, and who know that age is just a number’s whisper.

I wrote this song because I believe in the power of reinvention. I believe we have so much to offer—our experience, our patience, our ability to see the big picture. And I believe we deserve a seat at the table when it comes to shaping the future.

“Silver Sisters in AI”

They're tapping keys in quiet rooms

With wisdom etched in silver hair

Their voices breaking through the gloom

Invisible but they're right there

They’ll conquer code and master waves

Finding paths in AI’s maze

Determined not to be enslaved

By youth’s rush or bygone days

[Chorus]

Shout out loud for silver sisters

Learning tech and breaking walls

Age is just a number’s whisper

In their hands the future calls

From twilight hours to bright noon sun

Their spirit shines while they're unsung

Rewrite the lines that have been spun

In every byte and web they've hung

[Bridge]

Pixels dance like stars above

Guided by their steady hands

Each connection built with love

Transforming sands into new lands

[Chorus] Shout out loud for silver sisters

Learning tech and breaking walls

Age is just a number’s whisper

In their hands the future calls

AI Isn’t Just for the Young—Here’s Why

If you’ve ever thought, AI isn’t for me, I’m here to tell you that it absolutely is. Here’s why:

1. Our Experience Is an Asset, Not a Liability

We’ve spent decades solving problems, managing careers, raising families, and adapting to change. AI isn’t some foreign world—it’s just another new tool, and we already know how to learn and adapt.

2. AI Tools Are More Accessible Than Ever

You don’t need to be a coder to use AI. There are intuitive platforms that make it easy to create, write, design, and even compose music. (I wrote my song using Suno, an AI music generator and then had my HeyGen Avatar sing it!)

3. Representation Matters

Women over 50 are often left out of the tech world. But the more of us who step in, the more we can shape AI in ways that reflect our voices, experiences, and values.
